ROCK ISLAND — Rock Island State Park opens Friday, May 28, 2021 and ferry service will also begin that day.

The opening of the Island, just off Washington Island on the tip of Door County, was delayed to allow for repairs to the dock, including dredging of the dock area. 

Trips to the Island depart from Washington Island at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Return trips to Washington Island are at 10:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the  at Northport Pier Ticket Booth prior to boarding the Washington Island Ferry.

No vehicles or bicycles are permitted on this primitive island park that features the Pottawatomie Lighthouse as well as stone buildings built by a wealthy inventor who owned the island between 1910 and 1964. 

Rock Island offers rustic, walk-in campsites, hiking trails, a swimming beach and miles of shoreline to explore.
